The Pacific Volcanoes have long had a solid run of things in cricket. The offseason brought them no changes, after a semifinals exit in the playoffs was deemed perfectly acceptable in the highly competitive playoffs. The Volcanoes have picked up right where they left off last season, comfortably occupying sixth place in the league and fresh off a victory over the league-leading Eagles that sent them into their midseason. With a record of 21-11, there's a lot of things to like about the Volcanoes. The stability regardless of venue is another big selling point for the team. At home, they are 11-6, while they are a remarkably similar 10-5 on the road, making them a tough draw. The one knock on the team is the 6-5 mark in games against West Division opponents. As one of the top 4 teams in the West, they have the lowest division record of those teams.
The Volcanoes also have a potent, if not stratified offense. Clocking in at 1644 points per game, the Volcanoes can do quite a bit of damage. Their highly energetic captain is Starlight, owner of a 498 average that makes up 30.5% of the team offense. Starlight is pretty-level headed this year, with a consistency just shy of 1.7, which holds true across venues for the young superstar. Behind her is the team's offensive powerhouse, Ms. Kitty, with a 533 points per game average that accounts for 32.5% of the team offense, a massive point share by any mark. Even more impressive is Ms. Kitty's consistency, which holds at 1.7, making her a big candidate for MVP at this juncture in the season. The offense falls off behind one of the league's premier dynamic duos. At the back end, Jack hits third with an average of only 273, about half of the team's leader. Jack contributes 16.5% of the team offense, and with a consistency that is disturbingly high at 1.7 for such a low average. You know what you get with Jack. Closing out games is the slightly better Leonette, who hits 339 a game for 20.5% of the offense. Leonette holds a consistency of about 1.5, so she is both decent in production and reliable. With many teams, averages like those Starlight and Ms. Kitty have would be unsustainable. Those two have done it before though, and there's no doubt they can carry the Volcanoes straight into the playoffs.
