Swordpoint escapes with a victory after a sluggish start, going to 23-12, while Infinity drops to 12-18 on the loss.
Pepsi Prestige Park, Lighton: After last game's appetizer, a true Southwestern Derby match features two bitter rivals meeting for the first time this season, both of whom will reach halfway through their schedule in this game. Spice couldn't handle the deflections on her turn, ending up with only 46 for Victoria. Acorn overhit one ball, taking just 112 for Lighton as the game starts slowly. B. Chapman tried to stay composed, but her turn was cut short at 167 on a bad swing, leaving the Spurs with a minor lead. Spirit pulled the Prestige ahead with her 343, giving them a modest lead. Yekaterina answered with 486, regaining the lead for Victoria by a similar margin. Twinkie I nearly saved the day for Lighton, but ended on 211 after her backhand scoop went out of bounds, just seconds after her deflection to the back 4s on the previous offering. Kavan pulled away with 736 for the Spurs, sending them to a final of 1435. Lydia's 361 left the Prestige short at 1027 in the loss. UPS Ground, Maplewood: Into the Northeast, where another rivalry gets going between very sheltered opponents. Sally got beat with a deflection that caused her to backhand into her own wicket, but she produced 433 for Archtown to lead off. Fluffina served up a classic performance, blasting 796 for Maplewood to lead. Sleepy B. chose to accept 294 for the Arrows, ending on a technical error but avoiding the optional replay. Bryant maintained the Lumberjacks lead with his 416. Ruby, Fluffina's sister, chopped 900 for Archtown, giving them a fighting chance again. Diddley had 281 for Maplewood, failing to cover the deficit as the last players come to bat. Dusky swept up 291, getting out of rhythm late in her turn, and the Arrows closed with 1918. Cubby saved the day for the Lumberjacks, knocking 641 to give them the win on a final of 2134. Maplewood jumps to 16-13, embedding themselves in the playoff picture, while Archtown is falling off the pace at 12-14.

Mr. Snowman was forced to take a mandatory replay after playing on through a technical error, and he cashed in with 686 to give Viewpoint Sound a wonderful start. Juno plowed her way to 659 for Modernistic, keeping it close early on. Mams displayed excellent reflexes in a flurry of a start, but faded to 279 for the Meteors at the end of her turn. Ms. Puppy cranked out 568 for the Union, giving them the lead at the halfway mark. Zach's slump continued, as he managed a meager 96 for Viewpoint Sound, who are now in trouble. Chimpy added a little more with a middling 196 for Modernistic. Kelly turned up with 552 for the Meteors, giving them a final of 1613, forcing a response from their hosts. Puff I left no doubt with 410 for the Union, putting them at 1833 in the win. Modernistic goes to 12-19 while Viewpoint Sound is down to 12-17 after the exciting game.
AT&T Oceanside Stadium, Oceanside: The biggest rival for each of the previous two teams face off in another Coastal versus Urban Core North duel in Oceanside. Kiwi proved solid with 320 for Terrace City to begin the game. Snuggle had a ruling on go against him, ending his turn with only 9 for Oceanside. Jennifer couldn't really break free, adding 304 for the Knights. Bells got jammed and produced 408 for the Waves, pulling them a little closer at the halfway mark. Oreo spiked 532 for Terrace City, extending their lead again. Alyssa continued her remarkable home form, pounding 995 to give Oceanside the lead. Stripes got beat on a change-up, taking a measly 96 as the Knights lost with 1252. Pounce continues to struggle, but his 113 for the Waves was icing in this game, as they sealed off a win with 1525. Oceanside jumps to 19-14, passing the now 20-16 Terrace City in the process.
Verizon Field, Pacific: The Volcanoes face a tough test as they reach midseason by hosting the Eagles, looking for revenge on their loss in Everton earlier in the year. Goldy mostly got shut down for Everton, producing 264 in an unusually weak start. Starlight unleashed 1064 for Pacific, giving them a massive lead in a battle between big offenses. Puff III remained weak on the road, stymied at 103 for the Eagles as her MVP candidacy crumbles. Ms. Kitty was forced to take a mandatory replay after a technical error, and swatted 497 to pad the Volcanoes lead. Cleo rallied back on 768 to keep Everton somewhat in range. Neopolitan fought back with 624 for the Surfers, making this a highly entertaining game despite the hosts trailing. Charli slipped at 249 for Tysini, potentially leaving the door open in this game. Wings shut down some of the deficit, slicing 551 for Pearl. His brother, Bright, had a poor showing with a measly 24 points for the Hummingbirds, leaving them vulnerable at 1955. Cowzart slammed 490 for the Surfers to take the win on 2196 in a comeback performance. Pearl advances to 23-11 on the division win, while Tysini slides to 23-15, dangerously close to falling out of the second tier of teams.
Tridents Park sponsored by Ford, Pronger: The Tridents are in line to sweep the Monarchs in a battle of weak teams. Panda launched 602 to start for Southern, giving them a solid base to work off of. Strawberry had a poor showing, with only 51 for Pronger as they face a steep challenge. Shannon pulled in 423 for the Monarchs, adding to their lead. Hoot's 258 didn't do much for the Tridents, as they trail significantly at the halfway point. Kirstin cancelled it out with her 295 for Southern, protecting their lead effectively. Precious only grabbed 200 for Pronger, and they appear to be prepared for a loss. Nicole belted an extra 1155 just to really secure the Monarchs lead, putting them at 2475 in what should be a win. Paps double-tapped his way to a pathetic 25 points as the Tridents suffered a fifth straight home loss on 534 points. Southern gets a rare win to go to 11-28, snapping a seven-game losing streak, while Pronger is now 12-21.
Ebay Center, Queens: The Run of Sadness continues, with the Monarchs getting set up for a doubleheader and three out of four league games, including the return match against the Flames just two games from now. Panda snapped his run of good form for Southern, taking only 49 this game. Crystal answered with 295 for Queens, good enough for an initial lead. Shannon also did terribly for the Monarchs, with only 33 points to her credit. Kayla rolled 225 for the Flames, calmly adding a small bit to the lead. Kirstin pulled in 112 for Southern, but they still trail by a noticeable margin. Max did enough with 247 to keep Queens going in the right direction. Nicole had a measly 78 as the Monarchs drop the game on just 272 points. Paige's 645 iced the Flames win at 1412. Queens takes the first round of this quick-succession series, going to 8-23, while Southern is 11-29 and the first team to reach 40 games played this season.
Kraft Crowns Park, Royal: The Crowns are the ones seeking the sweep, having beat the Gems on their own turf two weeks ago. Smokey clobbered 658 for Diamond to lead off with, all on an optional replay he accepted after a technical error. Frosty replied with a solid performance of 392 for Royal, but the hosts are still behind. Citrus hit a meager 25 for the Gems as their lead has been destabilized. Jake fought back with 490 for the Crowns, giving them the lead halfway through the game. Pedey had a rough start to his turn for Diamond, but he turned it into 359 to keep the game competitive. Nightfur stepped up with 312 to give the Crowns a win on 1306. Royal is trying to escape the low rungs of the ladder, now at 11-22 with the sweep over the now 16-20 Diamond side.
