The Royal Crowns are like many teams in the main part of the Urban Core South region: not very good this season. These proud, royalty based franchises are having a collectively terrible year. The Crowns made a single change in the offseason, as Sydnee retired and Marsell was brought aboard from the Tysini Hummingbirds, who have themselves cleared house quite effectively. Marsell was a controversial cut for the Hummingbirds, but he has not bounced back this season, leaving the Crowns at 10-22 and in 30th across the league. With a home record of 4-12 and a nearly as pitiful 6-10 road record, the Crowns are bad everywhere. In the weak Center Division, the Crowns have failed to capitalize on similar opponents, holding only a 2-4 division mark.
The biggest problem for the Crowns is offense. They hold an offense average of 1199 this season, the lowest so far at midseason of any team by nearly 100 points. Captaining this team (who knows for how much longer) is Frosty, owner of a putrid 244 average, which makes up only 20.5% of the weak offense. Her consistency hovers around 1.5, which is problematic with the terrible average. Behind her is the team's likely future leader, Jake, who holds an average of 354 to lead the team, on a point share of 29.5%. Jake is at about 1.4 in consistency, making him a fairly average player across the league despite being the brightest star on the team. Behind him is the aforementioned Marsell, who may have only a brief stop in Royal given his 269 average. Marsell is good for 22.5% of the offense, at a consistency of about 1.15, making him a bit prone to wild swings in offense. Rounding out the poor roster is Nightfur, who may also be retained with her serviceable 331 average, accounting for 27.5% of the offense on her own. Nightfur holds a consistency of about 1.3, which is good enough to be retained but far from spectacular. The essence here is that the Crowns will have a very different look next season unless pool goes extremely favorably for them, with at least two players in line to cut and potentially three. This is a team destined for being outside of the playoffs.
