We're back for our last day of games this week. First up today...
Queens Flames rookie Briana Livilotti is back for Rotation with the blue cue. Briana looked definitive with her shooting, including a successful break, but three errors forced her to end at 27 shots despite earlier pace suggesting better results. Next up is Atlantic Pirates veteran Steven, who plays 9-ball with the red cue. Steven had a good game, going empty on the break and taking one error for a scratch but ending in 15 shots. Capital City Sharpshooters veteran Missy goes next in 9-ball, using the blue cue for her turn. Missy had a great game, with a ball on the break and an error that ended up sinking two balls accidentally. She closed the effort in 11 shots, showing some skills along the way and a whole lot of luck. Today's fourth game goes to Viewpoint Sound Meteors sophomore Nibbles, who tries 9-ball with the red cue. Nibbles had a ball on the break but also took an error for illegal contact early on. He finished the game pretty well, ending at 14 shots after a late surge. Another Meteor, the rookie Vincent Sullivan, finishes the group with his 8-ball game using the blue cue. Vincent had nothing on the break in this game, but he shot well and finished in 20 shots without an error, using patience and good positioning to get through the game.
Group two leads off with Pronger Tridents captain Precious shooting 12-ball with the silver cue. Precious looked every bit a star with the effort, making a ball on the break and taking one error but not letting that bother her late in the game. She ended with 18 shots. Moving along, Pacific Volcanoes star Ms. Kitty plays 9-ball with the red cue. Ms. Kitty had a rather bad outing, getting a ball on the break but also taking five errors over 22 shots to complete the game, unable to keep clear shot lines or avoid scratches. The eighth game of the day is Waluigi debuting in 7-ball with the Lighton Prestige, using the blue cue. Waluigi was fairly average, failing to get anything on the break and taking only 11 shots without an error in a better start to his sophomore season. Golden Pilots veteran Strut goes next, using the silver cue in 9-ball. Strut played a solid game, getting a ball on the break but scuffling with an early error, his only one. He closed well at 15 shots. Ending the group, Salmo of the Eastside Sharks does 10-ball with the red cue. Salmo couldn't make a ball on the break, but his early shots were good. He did take two errors for illegal contact and a scratch, but he closed the game in 15 shots for a good outing.
The third batch sees Royal Crowns star Kayla jump in for 12-ball with the red cue. Kayla started off blazing with a ball on the break and a bunch of well-played early shots. She would take one error later in the game as positioning became difficult, but she ended in 20 shots. Continuing along, North Modernistic Nighthawks star Cheddar plays 12-ball with the silver cue. Cheddar had a ball on the break but also clustered four stripes near the same pocket. She expertly avoided any errors, breaking the cluster apart and clearing the table in 18 shots for a standout effort. The 13th player called to shoot today is Taylor Swift of the Commerce Tradewinds, using the silver cue in 12-ball as well. Taylor had nothing on her break, and she had a couple of errors during the game as well. Late mistakes pushed her score up to 22 shots after an even later save. After that, Viewpoint Sound Meteors captain Mams plays more 12-ball with the silver cue. Mams looked pretty good in this game, making a ball on the break and working around the table on a variety of shots before closing the appearance in 17 shots without an error. Rounding out the group, another Meteor, Hoot, plays 8-ball with the blue cue. Hoot could have done much better than his final result, as he stormed through the early going with a ball on the break. He did take two errors for scratches, slowing him down, but held on to score 23 shots.
The fourth group begins with Capital City Sharpshooters rookie Pauline playing 10-ball with the red cue. Pauline had nothing on the break, but it was two early errors that caused some frustration to bubble under the surface. She would need 20 shots to finish the effort. Up next, the Everton Eagles' reigning MVP Blizzard uses the red cue in Rotation. Blizzard kept a cool head in a challenging game, which saw her take an empty break and three errors throughout the game but still finish with a respectable 29 shots. Golden Pilots legend Dusty steps in for the next game, with the blue cue in hand for 10-ball. Dusty had a difficult chase on the 1 after making a ball on the break, which led to both of her errors, but she ended the game in 18 shots after a late surge. Tridents captain Precious returns to action for her second game today, using the silver cue in Rotation. Precious had a tough game, needing 31 shots and three errors after a bad break to get through the game. She impressed in making contact, but ended up chasing a few shots around. The 20th game of the day belongs to another Trident, Zach, as he plays 15-ball with the blue cue. Zach made a ball on the break and took three errors on his first shot, an intentionally illegal play that also scratched. From here, he was clean, needing only 22 shots to complete the good appearance.
Group five opens with Southern Monarchs captain Panda playing Rotation with the blue cue. Panda held his own despite an empty break, intentionally making an illegal play early on for his only two errors before cruising to 25 shots total by the end. Moving along, Archtown Arrows newcomer Wild Thing plays 12-ball with the blue cue. Wild Thing had a pair of balls on the break, but took one error for an illegally potted ball. This helped him with later positioning, and he ended the game in 19 shots, a good mark. The next player is the Eastside Sharks' Gizmo, who plays Rotation with the blue cue. Gizmo had a decent game, just going empty on the break and taking five errors, three with intent, while scoring 28 shots throughout the game. The 24th player called today is the Sharks' Salmo using the red cue in 12-ball. Salmo had a ball on the break, but he also took a late error, struggling with positioning on the last two balls, which inflated his score to 23 shots. Wrapping up the group, Central Warriors sophomore Mario plays 12-ball with the blue cue. Mario left the game livid despite making a pair of balls on the break, as he got the yips mid-game and missed a bunch of short shots in the left corners and side pockets. He would take one error in 20 shots, cursing the stick and the game as he finished.
The sixth group starts as Pronger Tridents sophomore Spot plays 12-ball with the silver cue. Spot delivered with a great game despite his empty break, closing things out in 17 shots with only one error in the appearance. Going 27th today is Hannah of the Queens Flames, who plays 12-ball with the blue cue. Hannah was denied on the break, and while she made a lot of shots early on, positioning was tough with everything starting on the top rail. She would take one error and 26 shots to get through a difficult game. Sleepy B. of the Archtown Arrows keeps the 12-ball train rolling with the silver cue. Sleepy B. shut the game down quickly after making a ball on the break. She did take one error, but her execution of shots went well, and she needed only 18 to get the game over with. Next up is Commerce Tradewinds third-year Niki, who shoots 15-ball with the blue cue. Niki played like a superstar in this one, making a ball on the break and dazzling with double-pots and combinations while taking no errors. She finished with a deflected shot off the 5 to put the 15 in the top side in 11 shots. The Royal Crowns' Jake closes the group with the silver cue in 10-ball. Jake struggled early on, taking one error while shooting at the 1. He would need 18 shots to get through the game, but he played well in the end to keep the shots down.
Group seven gets going with the Boston Swifts' Ice Cream shooting 8-ball with the red cue. Ice Cream had a rough game, going empty on the break and then needing 29 shots with two errors to clear the table. The Sharks' Gizmo is back for his 15-ball game with the blue, his second game of the day. Gizmo didn't do well, taking two errors and chasing the 3 around to run up his score after a narrow miss on the break. He would come up with 33 shots in the poor outing. The 33rd game goes to the Tysini Hummingbirds' Charli XCX as she shoots 10-ball with the red cue. Charli put on a dazzling performance, getting a ball on the break and then needing only 10 shots without an error to clear the table. Following that, Midland Predators captain Shawn shoots Rotation with the red cue. Shawn looked confident, taking a ball on the break. He would add three errors during the game, but he surged late to end in 25 shots. At the back of the batch, the Flames' Briana Livilotti is back for her second game today, using the silver cue in 15-ball. Briana showed growth in this game, making a pair of balls on a great break, and then adding only two errors in 22 shots to finish the effort quite nicely.
The final group kicks off with Atlantic Pirates captain Delila shooting Rotation with the silver cue. Delila had a poor break, leading to slow play early on. She would pick up four errors but still finished in only 26 shots for a solid game. The 37th game of the day belongs to the Pacific Volcanoes' Chicky Phil, who plays 12-ball with the silver cue. Chicky Phil struggled in this appearance, blazing at the start after a ball on the break but taking two errors and far too many setup shots on the last two balls before ending with 24 shots. Moving along, Pearl Surfers co-captain Neopolitan shoots 9-ball with the red cue. Neopolitan felt robbed on a number of close calls with the 9 in motion, throwing caution to the win and picking up two errors before closing with 24 shots in a brutal game. Trying to get things back on track, the Modernistic Union rookie Kodiak is in for 12-ball with the silver cue. Kodiak could not fix the recent decline in playing quality, taking a ball on the break but wasting great positioning with two errors, an illegally potted ball, and 26 shots by the end of his game. Finally, Infinity Torpedoes sophomore Solaris plays 9-ball with the silver cue. Solaris sold out trying to get something early on, and ended up with 21 shots and one error in a misguided game.
Premier cricket is all that's scheduled this weekend, which will fit in as necessary. Qualifiers return on Monday.
