Today is scheduled to be a 50-game bonus day, but may be reduced to a standard 40 games or postponed in action if play is poor. We begin with...
Wario, the Victoria Spurs sophomore, playing 15-ball with the silver cue. Wario had a ball on the break, but his frenetic start gave way to four errors and 30 shots over the course of the rest of the game, a merely average output. Next up, Atlantic Pirates sophomore Klaus plays 10-ball with the blue cue. Klaus couldn't get anything on the break, but he did clear the table in 16 shots with only one error for a decent performance. Moving along, the Westside Rockers' Cowzart plays 12-ball with the silver cue. Cowzart had a ball on the break but struggled to execute on a string of shots, these small mistakes weighing him down at 24 shots despite taking no errors. The fourth game of the day goes to the Spurs' Wario, who returns as the 50th player to finish qualifying as he shoots Accuracy with the red cue. Wario had an empty break this time, and took 19 shots without an error to end with totals of 173 shots and 17 errors. Finishing the group, Maplewood Lumberjacks veteran Bryant plays 10-ball with the blue cue. Bryant had an empty break and took one early error for illegal contact before closing the turn in 15 shots.
The second group kicks off with Stonebridge Wolves star Frosty playing Rotation with the blue cue. Frosty did make a ball on the break on her turn, but four errors and difficult shooting positions after the first error forced her to run the score to 31 shots. The Central Warriors superstar Dustin goes next, playing 12-ball with the red cue. Dustin made a ball on the break and fought through tough positioning to get done with the game in 19 shots without an error. The eighth game of the day is Accuracy with the red cue by Puff II of the Boston Swifts, the 51st player to complete qualifiers. Puff II made a pair of balls on the break, and while some late misses slowed her runs down, she closed at 17 shots and no errors, for totals of 176 shots and no errors in a rough campaign. Continuing along, Southridge Defenders sophomore Stephanie Livilotti plays Rotation with the red cue. Stephanie had a disappointing game, with an empty break that left two large clusters in play, which required six errors and 33 shots to clear out. Pronger Tridents captain Precious wraps up the group with Accuracy and the blue, the 52nd player done with qualifying. Precious had a pair of balls go down on the break, and she played quite well, finishing with 17 shots in the game for final scores of 163 shots and 15 errors throughout her games.
Group three begins with Freedom Cascades veteran Roxy shooting Rotation with the red cue. Roxy was unable to keep a clean game after an empty break, racking up eight errors over 29 shots, a growing theme with cluster problems on today's harder event games. Stonebridge Wolves captain Juno will play 15-ball with the blue in today's 12th game. Juno tried to make a big play on the break, but nothing fell, and she picked up three errors in the game to finish in 28 shots. After that, Commerce Tradewinds star Taylor Swift does 15-ball with the silver cue. Taylor had a stunning performance, blasting two balls in on the break and taking only one error in 20 shots for the game. Up next, the Queens Flames' Hannah shoots Accuracy with the silver cue as the 53rd player to finish qualifying. Hannah had a terrible game, getting a ball on the break but wasting the advantage over 24 error-free shots to finish at 170 shots and 9 errors. Puff III of the Everton Eagles rounds out this batch with 9-ball and the blue cue. Puff III left the table furious, making a ball on the break but taking three errors for illegal contact with the 9 in her 18 shots.
The fourth batch is led by Whitewater Shores rising star Marsell, who shoots 10-ball with the silver cue. Marsell did get a ball on the break but also scratched, one of his four errors in the game that led him to needing 18 shots to complete the effort. The next player called is the North Modernistic Nighthawks star Cheddar, who plays 15-ball with the blue cue in this appearance. Cheddar had an awful break this game, barely moving the rack at all. She would need seven errors, including a rare cue-off-table one, to complete the game in 29 shots after several haphazard cluster-busters. Moving along, Freedom Cascades veteran Nikolai shoots 12-ball with the silver cue. Nikolai took a ball on the break and no errors during the course of play, clearing a moderately difficult rack out in 21 shots. The 19th game of the day belongs to Southridge Defenders sophomore Hughbert, who shoots 9-ball with the red cue. Hughbert made two balls on the break and took only one error for a scratch in the middle of the game, ending in 10 shots for an excellent performance. The group ends with the Shores' Marsell returning for 12-ball with the blue cue. Marsell looked pretty good this time, overcoming the empty break to finish the game in 18 shots with a well-executed strategy for the game.
The fifth group opens with Swordpoint Blades captain Snowball shooting 15-ball with the red cue. Snowball needed 28 shots with three errors to complete the appearance after coming up empty on the break. Vincent Sullivan of the Viewpoint Sound Meteors is next to shoot, using the red cue for 10-ball. Vincent had a rough outing, scratching on the break for the first of five errors in a 23-shot performance that left him mildly annoyed and flustered. The 23rd player drawn to shoot today is Southern Monarchs veteran Dominic, who plays 12-ball with the silver cue. Dominic had nothing on the break, but quickly settled in. He would take two errors during the course of play, but finished the game in 21 shots nonetheless. Following that, Capital City Sharpshooters rookie Pauline plays 15-ball with the blue cue. Pauline had a delightful game in this appearance, needing only 23 shots after a ball on the break and just two errors for a clean game. Closing the group, the Warriors' Dustin is back for Rotation with the blue cue. Dustin had a ball on the break but also needed five errors to get through the game in a quick 24 shots.
Group six starts with Viewpoint Sound Meteors newcomer Dani playing Accuracy with the silver cue as the 54th player done with qualifying. Dani had two balls on the break and no errors in 18 shots for her game, a good performance. She finished with 149 shots and 17 errors in the sessions. Next up, Web City Spiders veteran Shiny plays 15-ball with the red cue. Shiny didn't get anything on the break, but she played well early on and was rewarded with the 11-15 combination to the bottom right to end at two errors and 19 shots. Continuing along, Lighton Prestige sophomore Waluigi shoots 10-ball with the silver cue. Waluigi didn't get a ball on the break, and he took one error late for a scratch, but he still ended the game in 16 shots. The Midland Predators' Leonardo is the next player up, using the silver cue for 15-ball. Leonardo had a ball on the break but struggled in the middle of the game, surging late to finish at 29 shots and two errors despite the slow segment. At the back of the group, Acorn of the Lighton Prestige shoots 15-ball with the silver cue. Acorn put together a stunner of a game, with only 19 shots and no errors after making three balls on the break (4, 10, 14 to both sides and top right).
The league has announced a cut in games down to 40 today due to time constraints.
The seventh group gets going as Modernistic Union sophomore Daisy plays Accuracy with the blue cue, the 55th player done with qualifying. Daisy took 20 shots, going empty on the break and picking up one error for missed contact. She ends with 154 shots and 10 errors overall. Continuing along, Oceanside Waves captain Snuggle shoots 12-ball with the red cue. Snuggle showed great composure, making two balls on the break and then picking his shots well, ending with 16 shots and no errors in the game. The 33rd game of the day goes to Stonebridge Wolves rookie Hershey, who shoots 15-ball with the silver cue. Hershey didn't make anything on the break, but he kept the errors down to three and finished the game with 23 shots, a good showing for the youngster. Following that, Harrison Specters star Sydney Sierota plays 15-ball with the blue cue. Sydney made a pair of balls on the break and had only two errors in her appearance, also closing in 23 shots as the play quality takes an upturn late in the day. The group ends with Chimpy of the Modernistic Union shooting Rotation with the blue cue. Chimpy had nothing on the break, but he took only one error in the game early on, finishing in 25 shots in a good outing.
The final group gets underway with the Wolves' Frosty returning for 15-ball with the blue cue. Frosty saw the luck run out on her turn, with seven errors and 38 shots after an empty break sending her deep down the standings in the event. The 37th game of the day belongs to Pacific Volcanoes newcomer Twinkie I, who plays 9-ball with the silver cue. Twinkie I had nothing on the break and one error when she started to lose control of the game, falling to 17 shots in the appearance. Next up, the Tysini Hummingbirds' Paps plays 10-ball with the red cue. Paps had a ball on the break in lucky fashion, and somehow only took one error in 23 shots in a difficult game that followed. After that, the Nighthawks' Cheddar finishes qualifying 56th with her Accuracy game with the blue cue. Cheddar had a disappointing turn, making a ball on the break but taking one error and 21 shots to put her totals at 183 shots and 17 errors. Finally, the Royal Crowns' Jake plays 15-ball with the silver cue in today's final game. Jake didn't make anything on the break, but he ended at 22 shots and two errors in a strong outing from the star.
More of the same tomorrow, a standard day expected.
