2018 Qualifiers - Day 28

We're back today for another 40 games, which should be able to fit in a standard time period for once. We begin with...

Pronger Tridents sophomore Potter playing 12-ball with the blue cue. Potter made a ball on the break and played smart to avoid any errors, ending on 21 shots for the game after a cautious finish on the last two balls. Lighton Prestige superstar Spirit gets the next game, playing 12-ball with the silver cue. Spirit also got a ball on the break, and she backed it up with 19 shots without an error, playing a bit crafty to get good positioning. Swordpoint Blades star Dreamy draws in for 12-ball with the silver cue as well. Dreamy made quick work of her game, with three balls downed on the break. The rest of the rack took her only 14 shots after some strong positioning and one cluster-busting shot that worked well. She had no errors in the appearance. Following that, Viewpoint Sound Meteors sophomore Nibbles shoots 15-ball with the red cue. Nibbles had a ball on the break, but between his first and third error, he struggled. Luckily for him, that was the last of the bad, and he surged to finish in 28 shots for the game. The fifth game of the day goes to Boston Swifts stalwart Gradley, who shoots Rotation with the red cue. Gradley had a good game going with two balls on the break, but he took four errors and wasted the performance with a shaky finish, ending at 29 shots.

The second group leads off with Viewpoint Sound Meteors rookie Vincent Sullivan playing 12-ball with the blue cue. Vincent had a ball on the break, but he walked a thin line for setup shots. It stung him late, as he took two errors before closing at 18 shots. Continuing along, Swordpoint Blades sophomore Bandit shoots Rotation with the silver cue. Bandit made a ball on the break and looked confident despite a slow start. He surged in the middle, helping to close the game in 25 shots with only one error for missed contact. Next up, Queens Flames captain Crystal plays 12-ball with the blue cue. Crystal made a mess of her game, getting three balls on the break and then butchering almost half a dozen tap-ins, taking two errors over 25 shots to complete the game. The ninth game of the day goes to Viewpoint Sound Meteors veteran Hoot, who plays 10-ball with the red cue. Hoot got a ball on the break, but his two errors derailed the performance to a score of 17 shots despite some good shooting. Finishing the group, Modernistic Union returnee Chimpy plays 15-ball with the silver cue. Chimpy predictably took a deviant path to a decent score of 26 shots, going empty on the break and seeing four of his five errors go down as intentional before ending early on a meticulously aligned 11-15 combination to the top left.

Group three opens as Atlantic Pirates returnee Steven shoots 15-ball with the blue cue. Steven had his work cut out for him after an empty break, and he came through in 28 shots with only two errors to get through the game relatively well. Moving along, Harrison Specters rookie Rudolph does Accuracy with the red cue, the 66th player to finish qualifying. Rudolph had a good start despite an empty break, but his early run faded late and he ended at 19 shots with no errors, good for totals of 181 shots and 16 errors in a tough rookie qualifying campaign. The 13th player called to shoot is the Prestige's Spirit, who returns for Rotation with the silver cue. Spirit had a pretty good showing, although four errors is concerning after an empty break. She closed well, with 25 shots by the end. Up next, Southridge Defenders sophomore Stephanie Livilotti plays 15-ball with the red cue. Stephanie had nothing on the break, and three of her five errors were for scratches, a frustrating inefficiency helping to push her score to 29 shots in a mediocre appearance. Wrapping up the group, Oceanside Waves sophomore Dewey tries 15-ball with the blue cue. Dewey had a ball on the break, but he also took three errors before a chaotic finish that saw the 13 bump the cue back after contact with the 10 to pot the 15 in the bottom left to end it at 22 shots.

Batch four starts with Atlantic Pirates sophomore Isabella doing 10-ball with the red cue. Isabella had a ball on the break, but also picked up five errors in a loose 16 shots, remarkable numbers on both sides for the young spark-plug player. The 17th game of the day goes to Terrace City Knights veteran Jennifer Livilotti, who plays Accuracy with the red cue as the 67th player done with qualifying. Jennifer had 21 shots and no errors after an empty break in a difficult game for her to get a grip on. She ends with totals of 159 shots and 17 errors. Midland Predators newcomer Americus goes next, playing 12-ball with the red cue. Americus failed to get a ball on the break, and then took two errors late in the game with difficulty to get a good shooting position, ending the game in 21 shots. After that, Pronger Tridents rookie Lize plays 12-ball with the red cue as well. Lize had a ball on the break and kept herself clear from errors, although a couple of rattled shots forced to end at 19 shots instead of a lower score. Rounding out the group, Mario of the Central Warriors plays 15-ball with the silver cue. Mario took two balls on the break and managed to have only one error in the game, finishing at 25 shots in a strong showing.

The fifth batch sees the Meteors' Hoot return to action in 12-ball with the blue cue in his second game of the day. Hoot had a ball on the break, and he remained confident early on, striking a bunch of shots in quickly before fading with one error to 18 shots in the end. Up next, Maplewood Lumberjacks rookie Summer does Rotation with the blue cue. Summer had a fairly average game, getting nothing on the break and taking 27 shots with three errors to clear the table, surging at the end to secure that score. The next player called is Harrison Specters veteran Lexi, who plays 15-ball with the red cue. Lexi didn't get a ball on the break, but she surged through the rack in 22 shots with only two errors for an excellent showing. Following that, Whitewater Shores rising star Marsell plays 15-ball with the silver cue. Marsell couldn't keep control of the cue this time, taking five errors after an empty break, which left him to score 31 shots by the end of the game. The 25th game today is for Mr. Snowman, the Infinity Torpedoes veteran, who shoots Rotation with the blue cue. Mr. Snowman needed 29 shots after getting a ball on the break, but he also took his first three errors of qualifiers in the performance.

The sixth group gets going as Victoria Spurs rookie Sage tries Rotation with the silver cue. Sage had no trouble in this event, taking a ball on the break and clearing the table in a mere 21 shots with only two errors from one intentionally illegal play. After that, Midland Predators captain Shawn becomes the 68th player to finish qualifying as he shoots Accuracy with the blue cue. Shawn went empty on the break this time, but took no errors over 18 shots to complete the outing, and he finished with 143 shots and 8 errors overall. Jason V. of the Oceanside Waves steps in next for 10-ball with the blue cue. Jason V. didn't get a ball on the break, and he took two errors during his appearance, but still closed in 15 shots with some remarkably strong shooting. Today's 29th game features Golden Pilots captain Valencia shooting Rotation with the silver cue. Valencia had five errors but also made a ball on the break, capping her performance in 27 shots for a decent game. Closing the group, the Pilots newcomer Sparkles plays 15-ball with the blue cue. Sparkles had only one error despite an empty break, and this combined with a fortunate positioning along the top rail for the 11-15 combination to the top right to put her at 20 shots in the game.

Group seven is fronted by Royal Crowns star Kayla, who plays Rotation with the blue cue. Kayla couldn't get anything on the break in this one, but she buckled down with some good shots and finished with 20 and two errors for the game, an amazing performance. Moving along, the Prestige's Spirit is back again for 15-ball, her third game today, with the blue cue. Spirit wouldn't get off easily this time, needing 31 shots with three errors after an empty break to complete a difficult appearance. The 33rd game of the day sees the Pearl Surfers' Boots become the 69th player to finish qualifying as she shoots Accuracy with the blue cue. Boots had a good start with a ball on the break, but a terrible finish with two errors and 23 shots, giving her 163 shots and 10 errors for all of her games. The next player drawn is Tysini Hummingbirds star Charli XCX, who plays 15-ball with the blue cue. Charli had to be patient, as she left the 15 near the top right from the break. She had two dangerous errors in the game, but lined up and converted the 6-15 combination to end in 13 shots. Ending the group, the Torpedoes' Mr. Snowman is back for 15-ball with the blue cue. Mr. Snowman had nothing on the break and a lot of lucky shots early on, before taking two errors and slumping late to finish in 27 shots.

Strut, the Golden Pilots veteran, heads the final group with his Rotation game with the red cue. Strut had nothing on the break in this game, but he started well from there. He did take four errors during the game, and finished with a solid 25 shots. The 37th game of the day belongs to Pearl Surfers co-captain Watermelon, who plays 15-ball with the blue cue. Watermelon got through the game without a ball on the break, needing 29 shots with two errors to complete the appearance. Freedom Cascades captain Jasmine steps in for the next game, playing Rotation with the silver cue. Jasmine had nothing on the break, but she hounded shots quite well, completing the appearance in 22 shots with only one error. Continuing along, Sparkles is the 70th play done with qualifying as she plays Accuracy with the silver cue for the Pilots. Sparkles had a fantastic game, with one ball on the break and no errors to finish in 16 shots after a late double-pot at the top side and bottom left. Sparkles totaled 151 shots and 7 errors. Finally, the Union's Chimpy is the 71st player done with qualifying as he shoots Accuracy with the blue cue in the last game of the day. Chimpy had two balls on the break and no errors in his game, ending with 17 shots to produce a final score of 158 shots and 12 errors.

We're back at it again tomorrow with Elite cricket in the morning and Day 29 in the afternoon.
