2018 Qualifiers - Day 22

We're back for another day with 40 games today. Leading off...

Diamond Gems captain Smokey shoots 12-ball with the red cue. Smokey had nothing on the break, but he held his own from there, needing only 18 shots without an error to complete the outing in good form. Next up, Everton Eagles third-year Kirstin shoots Accuracy with the blue cue as the 20th player to finish qualifying. Kirstin did pretty well, although she added herself to the empty break list. She did have one error but still finished in 18 shots anyway, totaling 126 shots and 9 errors in her entire qualifying set. Golden Pilots captain Valencia gets the next game, playing 10-ball with the silver cue. Valencia had a tough outing, taking three unintended errors for illegally potted balls after an empty break left her with few good shots. She ended the game in 22 shots, an alright score. Southridge Defenders captain Debby Ryan takes the fourth game today, using the blue cue for Rotation. Debby made a mess of her game, getting nothing on the break and adding three errors, none with intent, among her 35 shots in the game. Wrapping up the group, Terrace City Knights rookie Quincy plays Accuracy with the blue cue, the 21st player done with qualifying. Quincy shot well, going empty on the break but also closing in 18 shots without an error. Quincy had 153 shots and 17 errors in qualifying for his rookie year.

Group two gets going with Boots of the Pearl Surfers playing Rotation with the blue cue. Boots didn't make anything on the break but still looked good early on, only getting tarnished with four errors after congestion blocked her good shots from the 3 onward. Boots ended with 32 shots. The seventh game today is Todavía Stills rookie Anton shooting Accuracy with the blue cue as the 22nd player to finish qualifying. Anton couldn't make any improvements compared to others today, an empty break and 18 shots being the theme so far. He did triple-pot the 7 to the bottom right, the 11 to the top right, and the 15 to the top side in his game, which had no errors to leave him with 146 shots and 13 errors in total. Moving along, Viewpoint Sound Meteors captain Mams shoots Rotation with the blue cue. Mams put in a good effort this time, going empty on the break as has been standard today, but clearing the table in 24 shots with only one error. Midland Predators star Rainmane steps in for Accuracy with the red cue, the 23rd player to complete her qualifiers. Rainmane did fairly well, with 18 shots after an empty break, including one error for a scratch. Rainmane had a total of 156 shots and 16 errors in her qualifying run. Lighton Prestige star Spirit rounds out the group with 10-ball and the red cue. Spirit had an empty break and took two errors during the game, closing the effort in 20 shots.

The third group opens with Defenders captain Debby returning to shoot 15-ball with the red cue. Debby needed 29 shots after her empty break this time, and added seven errors, most with intent, to get through another difficult game. Up next, Royal Crowns star Jake plays 12-ball with the silver cue. Jake showed up with a great break, potting two balls, and then taking only one error in 18 shots to clear the table with some well-played positioning. Today's 13th game goes to Swordpoint Blades rookie Jason N., as he plays 9-ball with the red cue. Jason had a good performance, although the empty break and single error were concerning. He ended in 13 shots, with a bit of a chase on the 9 to inflate the score near the end. After that, the Commerce Tradewinds newcomer Niki plays Accuracy with the silver cue, the 24th player to complete qualifiers. Niki made a ball on the break, an unusual situation, and then finished in 19 shots without an error to put her total at 132 shots and 8 errors in all qualifiers. Ending the group, the Royal Crowns' returnee Jeremias plays Rotation with the red cue. Jeremias had a great game, getting a ball on the break and taking no errors in 21 shots, a wonderful performance.

The fourth batch starts as Commerce Tradewinds captain Tigerette shoots 15-ball with the silver cue. Tigerette didn't get a ball on the break and took one error early on, but she aligned the 7 and 15 and used a deflected shot off the 7 to end her game in 15 shots as the 15 fell in the bottom right. Following that, Golden Pilots veteran A. Charlton plays picks up the red cue for 15-ball. Charlton didn't get the best of games, making a ball on the break but needing four errors and 32 shots to clear the table after no combinations or double-pots showed up. Next up, Commerce Tradewinds rookie Rosemary plays Accuracy with the red cue, the 25th player to finish qualifying. Rosemary had arguably the best Accuracy game yet, with a ball on the break and no errors in 15 shots, putting her totals for all of her games at 167 shots and 14 errors. The 19th player of the day is Bright of the Pearl Surfers, who plays 15-ball with the red cue. Bright had nothing on the break and added three errors early on in an attempt to get a combination lined up, but he ended up clearing the table in 25 shots after a second-half surge. Closing the group, the Diamond Gems star Citrus plays Accuracy with the red cue as the 26th player to complete her qualifiers. Citrus had a tough game, taking nothing on the break and collecting a few misses to close with 21 shots. Her totals were 162 shots and 16 errors.

Group five begins with Tysini Hummingbirds star Leandra playing 12-ball with the silver cue. Leandra made a couple of balls on the break, and she only took one error over 19 shots, getting a lot of easy plays early before some late set-up work to finish the game. Continuing along, the Swordpoint Blades veteran Stealth shoots 9-ball with the silver cue. Stealth had a tough game, getting a ball on the break but taking two errors and 19 shots for the game. The Westside Rockers' Midnight gets the next game, using the blue cue in 15-ball. Midnight used strategic errors to make up for her empty break, taking three errors and then finishing in 15 shots after double-kissing the 15 on a deflection off the 6 at the top right. Following that, Modernistic Union veteran Puff I shoots Rotation with the silver cue. Puff I couldn't make a ball on the break, and she abandoned honorable play with six errors, all on intentional plays, to end the game in 30 shots. The 25th game today goes to the Todavía Stills newcomer Prism, who plays 8-ball with the red cue. Prism had an excellent game, making a ball on the breaking and taking no errors in a commanding 19 shots for her game.

The sixth group is fronted by the Harrison Specters' Lexi Woode, who plays 12-ball with the silver cue. Lexi had a brilliant performance, taking two balls on the break and then needing only 13 shots without an error in the new standard for the event. Ms. Puppy of the Modernistic Union has the tough task of following that, with the red cue in hand for 15-ball. Ms. Puppy held her own quite well, getting a ball on the break and shooting contact plays well before taking just one error on missed contact. She ended with a shot off the 13 that bumped the 15 into the bottom right to cap the turn at 23 shots. The 28th player called to shoot is North Modernistic Nighthawks sophomore Luigi, who plays Rotation with the silver cue. Luigi went empty on the break this time, and he had to err with intent throughout the game, taking five errors in that fashion to end the game in 29 shots. Moving along, the Blades' Stealth is back to play 10-ball with the blue cue. Stealth found himself unable to get a ball on the break, and three more errors didn't help his cause, pushing his score to 18 shots in the game. Finishing the batch, his sister, the Freedom Cascades' Stripes, plays 10-ball with the silver cue. Stripes also didn't have a good game, failing with four errors and 26 shots after an empty and poorly-distributed break.

Group seven kicks off with the Eastside Sharks sophomore Salmo's Rotation game with the red cue. Salmo had a rough game, a ball on the break meaning very little when he couldn't get a clear shot. He turned to intentional errors, taking seven in 30 shots to finish the ugly game. Up next, the Westside Rockers' Cowzart plays 10-ball with the silver cue. Cowzart did pretty well relative to the standard today, needing only 17 shots with one error after an empty break and a slow start. Terrace City Knights veteran Jennifer Livilotti takes the next game, using the silver cue in 15-ball. Jennifer had to err a few times with intent, taking five errors throughout the game after an empty break, and she finished the effort in 19 shots. Today's 34th game belongs to Royal Crowns rookie Cassie, who shoots 9-ball with the red cue. Cassie jammed a finger before the game on her base hand, but made a ball on the break and took only one error for a scratch in her 12 shots for a good game. At the back of the group, the Eastside Sharks mainstay Chelsea plays Accuracy with the red cue, the 27th player to finish qualifying. Chelsea made a ball on the break and didn't take any errors over her 18 shots to clear the table. Chelsea finished qualifiers at 144 shots and 8 errors.

The final group sees the Web City Spiders newcomer Jack at the helm for his Accuracy game with the silver cue, making him the 28th player to complete qualifying. Jack went empty on the break, but he also avoided errors in 20 shots, giving him totals of 167 shots and 13 errors across his sessions. The 37th game today is for Whitewater Shores rookie Katharine McPhee, as she plays Rotation with the red cue. Katharine had a good start with a ball on the break, but she quickly turned to intentional errors to get by, needing six of them to finish at 28 shots for the game. Pronger Tridents rookie Lize steps in next, playing 10-ball with the silver cue as she tries to shoot at full strength. Lize didn't stretch her shots too much, ending with an empty break and two errors in 21 shots for a decent effort. After that, the Diamond Gems' Cassandra plays 15-ball with the red cue. Cassandra tried to make an early impact, but she ended up with four errors after an empty break, bailed out by a deflection off the 11 to pot the 15 in the bottom left for a score of 26 shots. Finally, the Shores rookie Katharine plays 15-ball with the red cue in her second game today. Katharine played well this time, getting nothing on the break but taking only two errors over 25 shots to complete the effort.

That's it for today. There's no cricket tomorrow, due to personal commitments, but Elite will end their week on Friday morning. Qualifying will continue as usual tomorrow.
