2018 Qualifiers - Day 27

A new day of games is here, likely 40 again with some post-dinner play due to time constraints. We begin with...

Swordpoint Blades captain Snowball, who plays Accuracy with the silver cue, the 57th player to finish qualifying. Snowball didn't get anything on the break, but she steered clear of errors in her 19 shots to clear the table, for totals of 147 shots and 10 errors. The second game of the day belongs to the Royal Crowns' Jake, who is the 58th player done with qualifying as he shoots Accuracy with the red cue. Jake had a decent start despite an empty break, but he was heavy-handed and needed 24 shots to complete the game after rattling three straight-in shots out of pockets. He took no errors this game, ending at 145 shots and 9 errors. Continuing along, Westside Rockers veteran Midnight plays Accuracy with the silver cue, the 59th player to finish qualifiers. Another late mess and another empty break creates a theme today, as Midnight closed in 21 shots despite some clear shooting lines, and she had no errors. Midnight finished with 162 shots and 19 errors for the entire qualifying set. Next up, the TodavĂa Stills newcomer Prism does 9-ball with the blue cue. Prism didn't make a ball on the break and she took one error for a scratch after an emphatic shot on the 4, but still finished with 13 shots for a good game. Ending the group, the Westside Rockers' Goatee does 9-ball with the red cue. Goatee had a ball on the break, but messy play early on and two errors, including one as she made the 9, forced her to clear the table in 16 shots.

Group two gets going with Golden Pilots captain Valencia shooting 12-ball with the red cue. Valencia had a decent start, getting a ball on the break, but she got shaky late in the game with three errors, and ended up at 24 shots for the game. Southridge Defenders sophomore Hughbert goes next, playing 10-ball with the blue cue. Hughbert couldn't quite get anything on the break, and he had an early error for missed contact, but a late surge dropped him at 18 shots for a decent game. The eighth game today is Pearl Surfers co-captain Watermelon playing Rotation with the blue cue. Watermelon got a ball on the break, and with an early-triple pot of the 4, 6, and 14, she only needed 22 shots with one error in a good outing. Following that, Harrison Specters star Sydney Sierota plays Accuracy with the blue cue, the 60th play to complete qualifiers. Sydney had nothing on the break, and she had to waste a shot on a cluster-buster later on, but she had no errors over 20 shots to finish with totals of 160 shots and 11 errors. The group closes with Midland Predators newcomer Americus playing 10-ball with the silver cue. Americus made a pair of balls on the break ugly, also scratching for the first of four infuriating errors over 17 shots.

The third batch opens with Pacific Volcanoes newcomer Twinkie I shooting 10-ball with the silver cue. Twinkie I struggled a bit, a terrible break leading to the first of her two errors, and she finished with a decent 17 shots after a late surge. Moving along, the Eastside Sharks' Salmo plays Accuracy with the red cue, the 61st player to finish qualifying. Salmo had no trouble in his game, clearing the table in 17 shots without an error to give himself final scores of 147 shots and 17 errors. The Everton Eagles star Puff III goes next, playing 10-ball with the silver cue. Puff III got a ball on the break after a couple of good bounces, but she had two errors and needed to chase the 10, wrapping the game in 17 shots by the end. The 14th game of the day goes to Hoot of the Viewpoint Sound Meteors, who plays 9-ball with the silver cue. Hoot was on pace for a good game before taking two errors on a missed contact scratch, but he closed it down in 15 shots, not fully wasting the successful break. Rounding out the group, Queens Flames captain Crystal plays 10-ball with the silver cue. Crystal couldn't get a ball on the break, but she did finish in 16 shots with only one error for the appearance.

The fourth group starts as Commerce Tradewinds captain Tigerette shoots Accuracy with the red cue, the 62nd player done with qualifying. Tigerette had a disappointing finish to her qualifying season, an empty break and 24 shots later leaving her at 173 shots and 12 errors, a tough run for the veteran. After that, Freedom Cascades veteran Roxy plays 15-ball with the silver cue. Roxy had a decent game, getting a lot of early shots in despite nothing on the break. She would need 25 shots with two errors to finish the appearance. Southern Monarchs sophomore Hoppy takes the next game, using the silver cue in Accuracy as the 63rd player to complete qualifiers. Hoppy took one error and a ball on the break in her game, finishing in 18 shots for totals of 157 shots and 10 errors. Charli XCX of the Tysini Hummingbirds draws in next, playing Rotation with the red cue. Charli had a ball on the break, but she made plenty of mistakes before some intentional errors, needing 30 shots and six errors to clear the table. The 20th game of the day sees Midland Predators veteran Leonardo shoot Accuracy with the silver cue, the 64th player to finish qualifiers. Leonardo wiped the rack out in 16 shots without an error, playing an excellent game to finish at 166 shots and 19 errors in an alright set of games.

Group five leads off with Capital City Sharpshooters newcomer Lorde playing 15-ball with the silver cue. Lorde tried to make the best of a frustrating game that saw an empty break and a bunch of rattled shots early on, ending in 33 shots and four errors. Next up, Southern Monarchs rookie Avril Lavigne plays 10-ball with the blue cue. Avril had nothing on the break and took one error in her game, needing 18 shots to clear the table in an unimpressive run. The 23rd game today is in 15-ball, as the Maplewood Lumberjacks' Gabe takes a turn with the red cue. Gabe decided to abandon principled play early on, taking seven errors but finishing the game in a quick 25 shots to negate the potential ills of an empty break. After that, Harrison Specters rookie Rudolph shoots 15-ball with the red cue as well. Rudolph had 29 shots in the game, but also picked up three errors, two with intent, as he had to clear the table to finish. Wrapping up the group, Commerce Tradewinds veteran Lionel plays Accuracy with the silver cue as the 65th player to finish qualifying. Lionel had nothing on the break and no errors over 18 shots in a fairly normal game, finishing his sessions at 148 shots and 9 errors, potentially the picture of average.

The sixth bunch begins as Lighton Prestige sophomore Waluigi plays 12-ball with the silver cue. Waluigi didn't actually make a ball on the break, but he worked with great positioning, not even letting a lone error derail him from finishing in 16 shots. The 27th game of the day is for the Volcanoes' Twinkie I, who plays 12-ball with the blue cue in her second game today. Twinkie I put in a masterful performance, needing only 13 shots without an error after making a ball on the break to clear the table, a near perfect effort from the veteran. Following that, Whitewater Shores rising star Marsell tries Rotation with the red cue. Marsell had six errors in his game, some without intent, as he worked through the empty break to end in 27 shots, a decent showing for the veteran. Up next, Westside Rockers newcomer Cowzart tries Rotation with the red cue as well. Cowzart had 28 shots after an empty break, which includes five errors, three by accident and two with intent as he worked through a difficult game. Terrace City Knights captain Kiwi finishes the batch with the silver cue in hand for 9-ball. Kiwi took nothing from the break, and two early errors forced her to stretch the game to 17 shots at the end.

Group seven kicks off with Pearl Surfers co-captain Neopolitan using the silver cue in Rotation. Neopolitan butchered some close-range shots, and she turned to intentional errors to clear the table faster, ending in 29 shots with eight errors in a chaotic game. Continuing along, Diamond Gems veteran Pedey shoots 15-ball with the silver cue. Pedey had a ball on the break, but four errors later, none with intent, weighed him down to a total of 27 shots in the game. Central Warriors sophomore Mario jumps in for Rotation with the blue cue in this game. Mario had four errors in the game after an empty break, but he mostly navigated well throughout the rack, finishing in a solid 27 shots. The 34th game is for North Modernistic Nighthawks captain Peach to play Rotation with the silver cue. Peach one-upped her close companion, knocking in the rack in 26 shots with three errors during a fairly solid appearance. At the back of the group, Viewpoint Sound Meteors sophomore Nibbles plays Rotation with the silver cue as well. Nibbles had a great start despite the first of his four errors on the break, as he also made a ball. He wouldn't carry that momentum far enough, ending in 30 shots.

The last group is fronted by the Royal Crowns' Jeremias, who plays 15-ball with the red cue. Jeremias created chaos, getting a ball on the break but also taking five errors in 16 shots before drawing the cue off the 8 to pot the 15 at the bottom right. The 37th game of the day belongs to Capital City Sharpshooters captain Chris, who does Rotation with the blue cue. Chris came close to getting a ball on the break, and he played clean early on, dipping for three errors before pulling out a late surge to end the game in 24 shots. Moving along, the Pronger Tridents' Potter shoots 10-ball with the red cue. Potter had nothing on the break and would take two errors in 18 shots before he could clear the table. Going next, Oceanside Waves captain Snuggle plays Rotation with the red cue. Snuggle started pretty well with a ball on the break, and he kept the errors down to four. He struggled at the end, falling to 26 shots when he cleared the table. The Monarchs' Avril Lavigne returns for today's last game, her second of the day coming in 12-ball with the blue cue. Avril did fairly well, getting one ball on the break and taking 22 shots with one error to finish the appearance.

That's all for today's action. Tomorrow, we've got Elite Cricket in the morning and Day 28 in the afternoon and evening.
