Archtown Arrows at Midseason
The Archtown Arrows have had the same roster for four years, but familiarity has led to diminishing returns at times. Never much of a pool team, the Arrows have missed two straight cricket playoffs, and are no lock this time with a 17-18 record at midseason, but with a 4-3 mark in the Northeast Division boding well in tiebreakers. Archtown is only 6-10 at home after an ugly skid early in the year, but they are 11-8 on the road, a formidable record for any team. Unfortunately, the Arrows don't have much in the way of scoring, with 1524 points per game for an average, although they are nearly lethal when traveling. Still, just Ruby breaks the 400 average mark, and while no player is below 350, the offense wants more. Sally, the lead-off hitter, hits the lowest, so the Arrows can be a team that proves relentless against opponents, especially with similar outputs from Sleepy B. and Dusky. However, with a home-heavy schedule remaining and a lack of explosiveness on the ends of the roster, the Arrows will have to make a drastic improvement at Starbucks Cup to get themselves into the playoffs, regardless of how well they are currently contending.
