Infinity Torpedoes at Midseason
The Infinity Torpedoes lost two players between seasons to league changes, as both Gabe and Shelley retired. While they are both expected to come back next year, stopgaps had to be found. The Torpedoes took highly hyped rookie Solaris early, and added former Meteors captain Mr. Snowman later, and it's worked pretty well, giving them a 22-13 record, as well as a 6-1 mark in the Southwest Division. Once the hottest team in the league, the Torpedoes home/road splits see an 8-6 home record in limited time, and a 14-7 road record, where most of their streak occurred. While they have cooled and even slumped recently, the Torpedoes are a good offense at 1728 points per game. It's the newcomers leading the way, as Solaris makes a case for Rookie of the Year with a nearly 500-point average. Mr. Snowman approaches 450 as well, and Smudge exceeds 400. Whiskers is just under that mark, showing balance in their attack and a lethal finish. Solaris also brings an explosive side to the Torpedoes, while the others prefer consistency. No matter how they get it done, the Torpedoes look like a good bet to make the playoffs and potentially go on a run once they get there.
