Golden Pilots at Midseason

The Golden Pilots made no changes to their roster after last season, confident that a slight dip in performance would not be repeated for another year. This proved to be an astute assumption from the management, as the Pilots are cruising nicely at 24-11 on the year, including a 6-3 record in the Southeast Division. The Pilots, as one of the best teams in the league, are 12-8 at home, and an amazing 12-3 on the road, an impressively dangerous team that no team wants to host. The Pilots are also one of the most devastatingly effective offenses at 1876 points per game, a fearsome total. This high mark is likely the product of Dusty averaging nearly 650 points per game in her remarkable comeback year that has her as a front-runner for the MVP. Behind her, the captain Valencia hits 470 a game, and Strut adds 430 more, a great supporting cast. A. Charlton is a bit light at 330 per game, but most games are done by the time she hits anyway. Both Dusty and Valencia are explosive, and everyone besides Charlton is better at home. Charlton's stronger road efforts indicate an ability to lock games down, a critical skill needed in the playoffs that await this well-oiled machine of a team.
