Capital City Sharpshooters at Midseason
The Capital City Sharpshooters have improved after a disappointing season last year. Out went two-year veteran Dani to the Web City Spiders, and in came Nicole from the Southern Monarchs to shore up the back of the lineup. So far, so good, as the Sharpshooters are 20-15 on the year, although their 2-4 mark in the Southwest Division leaves plenty to be desired. The Sharpshooters are also one of the hardest teams to visit, with their 13-4 record at home helping to offset the 7-11 mark they have outside of their home, the SuperCenter. The Sharpshooters bring an average of 1619 points per game to the table, no surprise given the talent that populates this roster. Chris leads the way with over 500 points per game, and Sprinkles has done well in her demotion to the third slot hitting. Missy hasn't been as great hitting second as usual, but she is a beast at home, while Sprinkles is a bit of a road specialist. Still, Nicole has not done her job all that well, likely costing them a few road games here and there with a sub-300 average. The Sharpshooters are not in danger of missing the playoffs yet, but they aren't an elite team and face a challenge if they do, in fact, make it to the postseason.
