Web City Spiders at Midseason
The Web City Spiders saw two changes in the offseason, as Sugar went to the rival Harrison Specters, and Rainmane was traded to the Midland Predators in exchange for the pick that became Ted. Dani also hopped aboard Shadow's team, but the results have been much the same. The Spiders have a 14-21 record overall, going 2-4 against the Northeast Division, 7-10 at home, and 7-11 on the road. This is Shadow's third year as captain, and nothing seems to happen, and without Rainmane's star power, the offense is down to 1468 points per game, with the team slightly better at home than on the road. Shadow is not a problem, with 432 points per game, and Ted is just under 400 as well, an impressive rookie effort that also sees him the most explosive on the team. Instead, blame lies on Shiny (335 per game) and Dani (305). The lack of depth scoring has cost the Spiders dearly, and neither back player produces as a specialist by venue either. The burden falls solely on Shadow and Ted at home, with no one to lift the team on the road. The Spiders won't make the playoffs, and more changes will come, although Rainmane coming back is probably out of the cards, given her success in Midland.
