Midland Predators at Midseason

The Midland Predators are the second expansion team to reach midseason so far, doing so with a 17-18 record and the most veteran roster of the expansion teams. The Predators are also 1-2 in the Southeast Division, and 11-11 in a home-heavy schedule, while going 6-7 on the road in the first half. This is a decidedly average team in just about every way possible, despite having steady captain Shawn and former Spiders star Rainmane in the fold. Journeyman Leonardo and rookie Fuchsia round out the roster, each showing promise in the new environment. The Predators do not have a good offense, scoring 1463 per game, one of the lower marks in the league, which suggests a bit of luck on their side to be so near .500 at this time of year. Shawn and Rainmane have done their jobs, bringing positive offense, but with Leonardo and Fuchsia both toiling around 330 points per game, there's little support. The Predators are fairly consistent, playing low-event cricket and hoping that the occasional surge from Rainmane or Leonardo will push them to victory each time. With travels awaiting and a mass at the playoff bubble, the Predators may be narrowly outside looking in at the end.
