Royal Crowns at Midseason

The Royal Crowns made a couple of changes between seasons, letting go of longtime captain Frosty (Stonebridge Wolves) and two-year member Marsell (Whitewater Shores). To replace them, the Crowns signed Kayla away from the rival Queens Flames, and Cassie as a rookie, who then abruptly sat out the season, with Hannah as the emergency replacement. This hodgepodge has failed to produce, with a 10-25 record and 1-4 mark in the Southeast Division. The Crowns are also 4-13 at home after a nasty skid, and 6-12 on the road. There's little to be happy with as a Crowns fan, suffering through a second year of misery. They average 1382 points per game, an incredibly low mark. Kayla is the lone bright spot on the team, hitting 430 per game to pull the Crowns to respectability. Jake, the third-year member, hits 360 in a nice supporting role, but both Nightfur and Hannah are sub-300 players. Nightfur does hit well on the road, but her season-long home slump show she's not ready to be a captain. Kayla also lacks consistency in her offense. The Crowns were not expected to be dead on arrival, but another offseason of changes is likely in the cards, coupled with a high draft pick as they also struggle in the Tournament.
