Maplewood Lumberjacks at Midseason
The Maplewood Lumberjacks lost Cubby in the offseason to the Puyallup Exodus, and his replacement, the rookie Waluigi, has disappointed thus far. The Lumberjacks were able to cover it up early, with an eight-game win streak at home to start the year, but they've since lost nine straight at home as they've plummeted down the standings. The Lumberjacks are 12-23, with a 1-4 mark against Northeast Division teams, an 8-9 home record, and a 4-14 road record, one of the worst in the league. The Lumberjacks have proven talent in the roster, but they average only 1359 per game, the lowest mark we've seen so far at midseason. The early success at home did well to offset some of their struggles, but this is clearly just not a good team in Maplewood. Diddley and Fluffina do their part just fine, although neither is above 400 points per game, but Bryant has taken a step back this year, especially on the road. Waluigi is the biggest problem, as the rookie is hitting poorly even for 2014 standards, when averages were 30% lower. At this point, the negativity is in their heads the most, and the Lumberjacks will just have to hope for better next year in the third division league.
